Cycle Courier beats current world champion to create the new Rollapaluza record over 500m.

The weather was amazing and the organistion of this event was superlative. This was in many ways a prime example of how to run a CMC.

Never before in Rollapaluza history has the racing been so fast. Marteen, a lowly cycle courier, beat the Rollapaluza record set by one of the current junior sprint world champions. 

Qualification was held in outside next to the main race course and the fantastic weather made for some fast qualifying times, even the slowest qualifier would have won some of the events we have put on in the past! After qualifying had finished we packed down, took a well earned rest and set up in the awe inpsiring Area 51 for the finals. The racing was close with the intensity increasing with every passing round. Some riders were improving as the evening wore one whilst others were struggling to match their previous pace.

The Dutch competitors won through in the end, both winners putting their previous Rollapaluza experience and raw speed to good use.

Rollapaluza felt previleged to be asked to run the roller race for the ECMC 2008, the second time we have been to Holland. This visit was every bit as enjoyable as the first and we would love the oportunitiy to continue putting on quality roller races on Dutch soil.

Vincent Velocity was brilliant, he kept everybody entertained with his witicisms. How many MC’s do you know that can commentate in five languages!
