The Brass Monkey winter league got under way at the White Hart in Whitechapel. Rollapaluza too the opportunity to run in some new gear, making the rigs a little slower that usual, that said there were some blistering times posted.

 Among the competitors there were six previous roller racing competition winners, including the esteemed Simon Schmidt winner of the Vet category in the currently dormant South London Roller Racing League.

 Matt Theobalds set pace in the early rounds but Joe Wood saved his best race for the semi final, where he posted the fastest time of the evening.

 Jason pushed Joe in the final but in the end Joe’s strength won over for Rollapaluza Victory number two and he is sitting pretty at the top of the league.

 In he women’s event Rachel got faster as the evening wore on and eventually beat experienced racer Agata in the final.

 A noteable PB’s was set this evening by Moving Targets Buffalo Bill, who kindly graced the mic for a while. A new best time of  20.86, which he puts down to riding a few miles to the polo court on a 55” gear.

Simon Jackson, another mulitple winner turned up too late to qualify, none the less after the competition had ended he posted a time of 20.34. Matching his CS Grupetto team mate’s qualifying time in fourth place.
